Inc. 500 Fast-Growing Private Companies Includes 3 Charlotte Metro Companies
Power Home Solar of Mooresville named fastest growing in the Carolinas
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Aug. 18, 2017 – The 2017 Inc. 5000 fast-growing private companies ranking includes 20 Carolinas companies that qualify for the elite Inc. 500 designation. The 2017 Inc. 500 ranking recognizes three Charlotte metro companies.
Power Home Solar, located in Mooresville, NC, ranks at #96 nationally in its first appearance in the Inc. rankings. The Construction industry company, founded in 2013, reported $14.7 million revenue and qualified as the fastest growing company in the Carolinas.
Torrent Consulting, located in Charlotte’s South End and founded in 2012, reported $5.8 million revenue yielding a national ranking of #261. It is the second appearance in the top 500 for this Business Products and Services industry company
Quimbee, a Charlotte Education industry company founded in 2009, reported $2.6 million revenue and achieved a #475 ranking nationally in its first appearance on the Inc. rankings.
Although Charlotte’s three fastest growing firms are new to the Inc. ranking in 2016 or 2017, the 45 Charlotte metro companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 list include 30 that have earned recognition in prior years. Charlotte USA’s most frequently ranked business is Transportation Insight with ten appearances on the list beginning in 2008. Headquartered in Hickory, NC and founded in 1999, the company operates in the Logistics & Transportation industry and reported $1.6 billion revenue.
The annual Inc. 5000 fast-growing private companies ranking is a valuable measure of entrepreneurial performance. The Kauffman Index of Growth Entrepreneurship uses this data as one element of its index (www.kauffman.org). The Charlotte Entrepreneur Growth Report published in 2015 includes an in-depth review of Inc. 5000 performance for the Charlotte region compared to benchmark metros (ui.uncc.edu/data/partner/CEGR).
All revenue and other data is as reported by Inc. magazine in their 2017 ranking of the 5000 fastest-growing private companies (www.inc5000.com). The ranking is based on 3-year revenue growth. Company participation is voluntary so the list may exclude some high growth companies.
Ventureprise will publish an in-depth review of Inc. 5000 results for Charlotte and the Carolinas on August 30, 2017.
